Mungyeong Tea Bowl Festival

This spring I was invited to hold a conference at the Mungyeong Tea Bowl Festival in South Korea.

Current design trends of ceramics in Italy was the subject. Furthermore I was asked to have talk about my ceramic career from the early on until today at the Dankook University, in Yongin.

It was a wonderful and suggestive experience, where I met so many local ceramists and artists and students from Taiwan, China and Japan and saw again friends I met during other ceramic festivals around the world.

A new article about me and my works, written by John Colbeck, who was one of my first ceramic teachers, has been published in the second issue of 2023 of New Ceramics.

The article follows my first steps into the world of ceramics in the eighties until my latest projects.

My artwork on our new Chianti DOCG Wine

In 2019 we created a new label for the bottle of the 2018 wine produced by my husband Armando.

During the study of the label, among the various ideas emerged the possibility of including my artwork on the wine label, to combine my work as a ceramist with Armando’s work as a farmer.

We liked this idea very much, we chose the piece and put it on the front label. So the new label of our Chianti DOCG wine “Torello” was born.

New IAC member

I became a member of the International Academy of Ceramics in 2019.

Since I have had my first artistic ceramic experience outside of Europe in 2015 in Japan, as an artist in residence at the Shigaraki Ceramic Culture Park, I moved towards the international world of ceramics, meeting many new fellow artists.

The constant exchange between ceramists is, in my opinion, vital to any of us.

International Korean Women Ceramic Festival

It was such an interesting and fascinating experience to be part of the exhibition at the International Women Ceramic Festival at the Art Museum of Icheon, South Korea.

We meet many local and oversee artists ready to exchange point of views of the ceramic world. We also visited their workshops, getting introduced to local traditional ceramic techniques.

Ceramic Studio “La Casina”

I am glad to announce that at the beginning of August 2019 I opened my new ceramic studio, called “La Casina“, close to the Chianti area in Tuscany.

We inaugurated the new working space with “Clay Collective”, a symposium between various ceramic artist. The studio is well equipped with tools, as throwing-wheels, slab roller, various kilns and gallery.

I am planning to host at “La Casina” artists in residence, symposiums and workshops with international ceramists. Hopefully the next “Clay Collective” symposium will be held in 2021 at “La Casina”.
